Jennings caps career with unbelievable 44 titles
Louisiana Highlights
- Janie O'Connor of Zachary, a junior, put together an exceptional sprint triple, taking 5A titles in the 100 (11.69), 200 (23.82) and 400 (53.73). She was also on the winning 4x200 relay.
- Gabrielle Jennings from First Baptist of Slidell, who started winning Class C titles in the fifth grade, capped her career with an incredible 44 state championships. She won the 400, 800, 1,600 and 3,200 in her final track meet.
- Christian Miller from Northside won the Class 4A boys triple jump with 51-0 (2.7w). Chris Edwards of Washington-Marion Magnet was second with 49-11.75. Miller also went 23-3.25 to win the long jump. Edwards won the high jump at 6-10.
- Kyah Loyd of Byrd was second to O'Connor in the 100 and 200 finals (11.92/24.28) and won the 100 hurdles in 14.16 seconds.
- Mondo Duplantis of Lafayette won the 5A boys pole vault with a clearance at 17-9.
- Jayrin Wilson of Acadiana won the 5A 200 meters in 21.24 seconds and was second in the 100 meters (10.69).
- Eric Coston of St. Paul won the distance double in Class 5A, running 4:16.66 in the 1,600 meters and 9:25.74 in the 3,200.
- Claire Crosby of Mandeville won the 5A girls 1,600 (5:03.29) and the 3,200 (11:20.66).
- Antonio Woodfork of Haughton won a showdown with Kristian Fulton of Archbishop Rummel in the 5A 110 hurdles, 14.05 to 14.06.
-Abigail O'Donoghue of Denham Springs won the 5A high jump with a clearance at 5-9.
- Loren James of Baton Rouge Magnet won the 5A girls shot put with 45-7.
- Jace Attuso of Catholic (BR) won a jumps double with 24-6.75 in the long jump and 48-5 in the triple jump.
- In Class 5A, Catholic of Baton Rouge won the boys team title with 96 points, capped by an impressive 4x400 win in 3:16.62. Zachary won the girls team title with 69 points.
- Sophomore Reagann Leleux of Catholic (New Iberia) won the girls 2A pole vault by making 12-6.
- Episcopal swept the Class 2A team titles -- the boys scored 96 points, the girls 101.
- Taylor Shaw of Brusly won the girls 3A 100 (11.85), the 200 (24.83) and was third in the 400 (57.26).
- Ryan Theyard of Lusher Charter won the 3A boys triple jump with 48-10.50.
- West Feliciana's boys (59.5) and Lusher Charter (84) won the Class 3A team titles.
- Raymond Calais of Class 4A Cecilia put together the fastest sprint double of the entire meet, rolling through the 100 meters in 10.59 and the 200 meters in 21.21.
- Cecilia won the 4A boys title with 78 points, while Edna Karr took the girls championship with 48.
